At the heart of Piolucent, is a fun and constructive activity! We call it Pio for short.

Pio’s shade tectonics are designed with a passion for playful flexibility, and an understanding of how adaptability can instigate much longevity in our product lifecycle. 

Our Pio Moto is to design smart, simple, stylish products that you won’t get bored with quickly, and offer you the opportunity to be the stylist yourself.

Pio is a unique concept, introducing an illuminating, creative approach to styling and the functional aspects of light shading. 

The Pio Lightshade is designed to allow you to be able to easily interchange styles and keep your room feeling modern, up to date and fresh.

The ability to change the style and effects of the shade gives you a blank canvas to keep experimenting with the mood you are after in your environment, and if you fancy it change it with adding a new wrap.

The wraps store away flat taking up minimal storage space, allowing you to build your library of effects and keep them safe when you fancy a change of scene indoors.

The concept starts with a ‘core’ shade, onto which any number of medium, large and XL wraps of the same or different finishes and patterns can be clipped onto the shade, giving you an instant change of scene, mood, character, style, or function to a space. 

The wraps can easily be stored and swapped around.  This is a fun new way to look at lighting and easily shared with friends and family, making it an ideal gift.

Pio Translucency offers a good glow, and work great with systems such as Phillips Hue and other RGB LED lamps.

Pio White panels wrapped over have a beautiful porcelain glow to them, the light is more localised and cosy, yet crisp, with a wintery nordic appeal. Spotted and slatted wraps look totally cool in white.

Pio Transparent offers amazing edge glow effects, works well with coloured RGB LEDS and is the perfect setting for funky designer filaments. 

Pio Black is the drama queen of this group, creating endless shadows and silhouettes galore when mixed with the other finishes. Spotted and slatted wraps look totally cool and can swing the mood of a room in seconds. Using black wraps to downlight, they are great for dinnertime entertaining and intimate settings where you want a concentrated flow of light in one spot.

Pio Material and Recycling

The Translucent, White and Black Pio lights are made from raw polypropylene, which is extremely durable, easy to clean and highly recycled globally. The Transparent Pio Light is made from Polycarbonate.

Polypropylene is a by product and a highly cherished, non toxic polymer. It is one of the most recycled and re-used plastics on earth and this makes it perfect for products we’d like to keep in a ‘loop’, meaning that we can always recover, recycle and remake our objects without seeing it in landfill or anywhere else inappropriate.

Polycarbonate is an extremely durable thermoplastic and completely recyclable. It's excellent optical clarity and durability is the reason we have chosen it to create the transparent wraps for the Pio.
